Goliath has been found a wonderfull home in Carcassonne where he is being used to help youths at risk.

Mimi the mule is currently with us being educated before going to her new adoptive home, her owner could no longer keep her and asked ERF to rehome her.
JANUARY 2009
We were asked to find adoptive homes for shetlands Molly and Merlin and they have now been placed in their new adoptive home in the Haute Vienne.DECEMBER 2008
Accord, a beautiful young Trakhener gelding who had sadly sustained an injury whilst with his previous owner and needed a peaceful home where he could recuperate. He is now permanently re-homed under contract to a lovely family in the Charente.AUGUST 2008
Piona, a beautiful Baudet cross whose elderly owner was no longer able to look after her...

Nannette, Lena and Belle are saved from going for meat....

Wilbur, the donkey stallion is saved from his life of misery being shut up in a barn. He too has very seriously overgrown feet and found it difficult to walk. ERF is currently rehabilitating him and he will soon be gelded so that he can be re-homed.

MAY 2008
9 month old donkey Annie was due to go to market where her future would have been very uncertain....we found her a loving home in Brittany where she will live forever.
APRIL 2008

| Titos the 2 year old donkey is rescued by ERF just before he was due to depart for the abattoir, the 3 donkeys he was with sadly left just days before. He had lice and was underweight.. | | 4 months later and having received some care and attention (and gelded) Titos is ready to go to his new home in the Dordogne. | |

DECEMBER 2007
We are happy to let you know that Mavis has now been rehomed locally and is settling in well. Mavis gave birth to a colt foal in March '08 and can be seen on our blog.
Mavis is 11 yr old Welsh Section D chestnut mare (about 153/4cm, 15.1hh) whose owners are emigrating next week so we urgently need to find her a new home. She has some issues following many years of being used as a broodmare prior to the last owners purchasing her.

NOVEMBER 2007
Chantelle a very poor looking palomino mare is rescued from a life time of breeding foals for the meat industry and is now living in the Charente.

OCTOBER 2007
Roma and Coca now rehomed with Cheryl in the Charente.

As the local mushroom farmers shut down, their herds of horses bred to produce manure are left without a future. Sadly, 30 from this herd had already been despatched to the abattoir before we heard of them, however after 2 weeks of hard work (along with some incredible highs and lows), we managed to find homes for all the of the remainder. Finally, one Saturday, Trina and Jon loaded the final 8 onto a lorry bound for their new homes in France and the UK. Here are a few pictures of some of the lucky ones that are now enjoying their second chance in new pastures......
