A few months back we received a very sad email to say that Hugo’s adopters were sadly having to hand Hugo back to ERF due to relocating back to the UK. It was an emotional time as Hugo, our first rescue, had been with the family for so long and their daughter,Pippa, had built up an amazing bond with him.

Well the lovely Hugo has been in his adoptive home for a year now, and what a difference a year makes! His adopters are an excellent example of how to bond with a horse or pony that has suffered neglect and/or abuse. It was lovely to hear from Hugo’s adoptive family today with an update how brilliantly he is coming along.
Pippa and Hugo have formed such a trusting bond and all the patience and kindness she has shown towards him are paying off.
This once agressive and neglected pony has turned into an obliging friendly little chap and he and Pippa are enjoying hacking out and jumping logs...

Brrrrr…..another freezing start and Hugo is up catching the early morning sun rising. Hugo has had one family try him out last week but after much deliberation it was agreed that maybe they were not experienced enough to take him on. We do however have another family coming to try him on Tuesday so fingers and hooves crossed it all works out well!
